Could Chrome OS gadgets launch next month

According to a report from Silicon Valley blog VentureBeat, Taiwan-based manufacturer Acer is planning to launch a number of devices based on the Google Chrome OS next month.

While it is still uncertain what these gadgets are, some analysts have said netbooks are the most likely target. The Google OS was displayed on a netbook, and is intended to run at full capacity on the stripped-down laptops.

Additionally, the report confirms leaks from last year which said Chrome-based netbooks would be released by Acer in 2010.

Google has been trying to push its simple operating system as an alternative to normal netbooks. The system itself is found in the browser, and is designed so users depend on cloud-based software instead of programs installed on the machine’s memory.
