News Corp chief executive Rupert Murdoch has said the company will soon announce how it intends to charge users for online content.
The company has previously said it will begin moving its news behind a paywall, and Murdoch himself has attacked internet giant Google for documenting news through its search service.
“We will soon develop an innovative subscription model that will deliver digital content to consumers wherever and whenever they want it,” Murdoch said during a financial results conference call.
“We’ll be giving a press conference in about three to four weeks, which we will hope will have some important announcements on that.”
The company intends to charge for access to television shows and films, and will soon put up paywalls for all of its newspaper sites.
