According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft staff are concerned by the number of employees using iPhones, manufactured by rival Apple.
Sources have told the publication that nearly 10,000 iPhone users have been accessing the employee email system – equating to about 10% of the company’s payroll.
This comes after several tech publications have reported an incident regarding chief executive Steve Ballmer, in which he reportedly snatched an iPhone and pretended to stamp on it.
It is also reported that several Microsoft employees disguise their iPhones using cases and other protective gear in order to avoid attention.
