While the Dalai Lama may have laughed at the thought of joining social networking service Twitter in a conversation with the site’s founder, an account has now been made in his name.
Twitter founder Evan Williams wrote earlier this week he had met with the Dalai Lama and suggested setting up an account.
The next day, the Dalai Lama’s official office opened an account with its first message, saying he had been in Los Angeles.
A number of “tweets” have been posted through the account, linking to interviews, photographs and other online material. However, the Dalai Lama so far has not given any personal messages through his feed.
