Bill Gates isn’t a fan of the Ctrl-Alt-Delete function and would change it if he could

It’s often best to focus on the future rather than dwelling on what might have been, however, one of the world’s richest men has revealed an “edit” he would make if he had the opportunity to revise the past.

Given the chance, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has revealed he would do away with the Control-Alt-Delete keyboard function for Windows, according to a CNN report.

Instead, Gates would bypass the more complicated two-handed approach and go with a single button command.

“If I could make one small edit, I’d make that a single key,” Gates reportedly said while on a panel at the Bloomberg Global Business Forum in New York City.

The Control-Alt-Delete function now provides for Windows users to bring up Task Manager, sign out of Windows, lock their computer or switch users.

It isn’t the first time Gates has addressed the topic; back in 2013, he called the triple-key function a “mistake”.

“We could have had a single button,” CNN reported Gates as stating at the time.

“But the guy who did the IBM keyboard design didn’t want to give us our single button.”
