Apple product manufacturers on strike

Workers at the Wintek factory in East China are currently striking, ceasing production of screens used in devices by Apple and Nokia.

About 2,000 of the 10,000 employees at the plant are currently refusing to work due to the cancellation of bonuses and the use of an allegedly dangerous chemical during product.

However, the company has said it does not use n-hexane, the substance in question, and that employee bonuses will remain.

It is unknown whether this will prove a major setback for Apple devices, such as the iPhone, or any of Nokia’s handsets.
