Head a bit woolly? Get to the gym

Many people go to the gym to get their body fit, and now, according to Springwise, they can do the same for their brain.

San Francisco start-up vibrantBrains is setting up a chain of brain workout gyms in the US. Instead of weights and treadmills, members of the mind gyms – for $US60 per month – get to use a wide range of computer programs and other exercises designed to sharpen mental faculties to a fine point.

The business is in its early stages, but Springwise argues it has some advantages of your conventional gym from a profit perspective – mental gymnastics require a lot less space than their physical equivalent, computers are on the whole cheaper than your average gym machine, and people don’t generally need a shower afterwards.
