Instant message clients are among the most popular types of software on the internet, but so far not many of them have managed to enter the app store. BeeJive has beaten them to it, offering support for major IM clients on the iPhone, along with a few unpopular ones.
The app handles user accounts for a variety of chat networks, including AIM, MSN Windows Live, Yahoo, GoogleTalk, Facebook IM, ICQ and even MySpace IM.
The app even features support for push technology, allowing new messages to come up on the iPhone screen similar to the way a text message would. Additionally, users can even stay logged in for up to seven days at a time, even when the iPhone itself has been turned off.
New updates include the ability to send and receive files over the app, including pictures, while users can view and forward received documents as well. Group chats, landscape modes, chat histories and customisation of buddy lists are also supported.
The app is on the expensive side at $8.99, but is well worth the price.
