iPhone App of the Week: Tweetie 2

There are a huge number of Twitter apps available for the iPhone, but perhaps none of them are as feature-laden as the Tweetie 2 app.

Not only does the app allow you to tweet messages to your friends, and read messages of the users you are following, it also comes with a variety of features not available on the original site.

The app, which costs $3.99, includes virtual push notifications, auto-complete functions for “@replying” tags, and the abilities to direct message, link to address cards and integration with services including Instapaper and TweetBlocker.

The app also includes offline powers, with the ability to cache tweets in order to read later offline, as well as the ability to add favourites which are then synced later on when an internet connection is found. Tweets can also be drafted in offline status.

Users can also handle multiple Twitter accounts, post photos and videos and view in the app in full landscape mode.
