Telstra Media group managing director Justin Milne said at the company’s investor day that the Trading Post will now support ads sent in from mobile phones.
“Shortly we will launch a complete mobile service. So you will be able to take a picture of your used jalopy with your phone, you will be able to place the ad, you will be able to pay for the ad, and then you will be able to see the ad and sell the car, all on a mobile phone, without having to go near a keyboard.”
“We think that is the future of classified businesses and we are moving really to get there.”
Telstra recently discontinued the print version of the Trading Post in favour of the online version. The ability to send in ads from mobile phones has been hailed as a method for some less tech-savvy readers to keep in touch with the decades-old paper.
