New York-based lean startup program Lean Startup Machine (LSM) has announced it’s returning to Sydney in partnership with digital development company Vivant.
Despite Melbourne being ‘unlocked’ for a LSM event, StartupSmart understands there are no plans to hold a workshop there on this occasion.
The Sydney event will also incorporate a two-day enterprise bootcamp aimed at introducing lean startup thinking into the established workplace.
In recognition of the growing ‘intrapreneur’ revolution (those who show an entrepreneurial spark within a business), this year the LSM teaches innovators how to apply startup culture in-house.
Taking place on September 4-5, the enterprise bootcamp aims to arm corporate teams with the skills and thinking which helps develop new products and services, all based on the lean startup philosophy of creating value with fewer resources.
The flagship LSM public workshop follows the enterprise bootcamp – taking place September 5-7 – with an intense two-and-a-half day workshop teaching aspiring entrepreneurs how to build disruptive products.
This event endeavours to instil Lean Startup practices in the startup community, providing a platform to learn, develop and experiment in a heavily inspired environment, under the guidance of industry mentors.
Headlining the event is the LSM CEO and founder, Trevor Owens, who will be flying in to support both programs, which will tie in with the launch of his new book, Lean Enterprise.
Anthony Farah, CEO of Vivant, said the LSM has always been a great platform for the startup community to invest and trial their initiatives, with this year’s corporate arm providing valuable skills to those businesses that could benefit from applying the lean startup methodology.
StartupSmart is a partner for the event.
