Disposable plates and bowls too good for the bin

You’ll find them at any backyard barbecue – disposable paper or plastic plates for your snags and burgers.

Maybe because they’re meant to be thrown away not a lot of effort’s gone into making them attractive.

But it doesn’t have to be that way, as Japanese design studio Wasara has demonstrated.

They’ve come up with this set of stylish plates and bowls made from bamboo, reed pulp and sugar cane waste.

Can you think of a way to redesign another throw away product to give it an attractive edge?
