Occasionally you’ll receive spam email that will have a threatening attachment. Sometimes, you don’t even need to open those attachments for them to harm your computer.
To make sure all external content is blocked by default in Gmail, head to the Settings page, and then the front page.
There, select the option to “ask before displaying external content”.
