That’s great. It starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane – but Old Taskmaster is not afraid!
That’s right, this Friday is December 21st, which if you believe the Mesoamerican long-count calendar hype, literally marks the end of the world.
Seven bowls of wrath will be poured unto the ground. Four seals will reveal four horsemen, led by a crown rider with an arrow and bow. Abaddon and Wormwood shall crash to the earth. The city of Babylon the Great will be destroyed. Locusts with scorpion tales will swarm. Rapture and the start of seven years of tribulations.
Perhaps even a zombie apocalypse.
Unfortunately for anyone hoping for an earth-shattering fireworks display this Friday, Old Taskmaster suspects that all that will be revealed on Friday is a series of false prophets.
So what better time to organise a long-term planning session than this Friday?
The end of the year marks a slowdown for many industries outside retail and hospitality. This means it’s an ideal time to evaluate the success and failings of the past 12 months, and then start to put together a big picture vision for the year ahead.
The important thing for this session is to focus on the big picture issues. If you still need to flesh out the details raised at this planning session afterwards, that’s fine. After all, it’s not like it’s the end of the world or anything.
Get it done – before the world ends!
