Celebrate your start-up journey

My instruction for today is very simple – plan to do something this weekend to recognise the amazing journey that you are on as an entrepreneur.

It’s hard to believe that StartupSmart is already two-years-old. That means you have had a solid 24 months of priceless advice from me, the Taskmaster.

Clearly, that makes you very lucky people. But it also makes me very lucky – sharing the huge amounts of wisdom I have received from running Taskmaster Enterprises is a joy everyday.

So this week, we are going to mark that two year milestone in our own special ways.

For you, it might be a relaxing massage, a dinner with friends and family, or actually spending a few hours reading a book rather than last week’s management accounts.

For me, I imagine I might do a spot of hunting or flick through the works of the great Greek scholars. But that’s me.

Seriously though, this starting a business caper is not easy. It can be tiring and stressful and it does require sacrifices.

No matter how your business is tracking right now, take a few hours to acknowledge to reflect on the highs and lows of the last 24 months and give yourself a pat on the back.

Like the terrific team at StartupSmart (led by me of course) you have really earned it.
