Often when you come back from an extended break having set up a vacation responder on your email system, you may forget it’s there.
To get rid of this problem in Gmail, you can set dates for when the vacation responder turns on and off.
Head to the Settings Page in Gmail, then head down to the bottom of the page.
Where you have a vacation response, just select the fields “First Day” and “Ends” to set a limit.
