Wake up your computer from sleep mode automatically

tech-tricksYou may put your computer into sleep mode every night, to save yourself the trouble of booting up every day. But did you know you can also tell your computer to automatically come out of sleep mode at a certain time?

To do so in Windows, head to the Task Scheduler – a nifty tool that can be used to set times and tasks for automatic procedures.

In the Task Schedule box, hit “Create Task”, and then follow the prompts – when you want the computer to wake up, for instance. Then on the “Conditions” tab, you’ll need to select the box for “Wake the computer to run this task”.

You’ll need to actually set a task for the computer to do, in order to wake it. You can just ask it to start a program, or open a window – just anything to wake it from sleep.

Save the task, and you’re done!

If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, then ask someone more technically minded. Once you start messing with computer priorities and settings, you can end up doing some damage if you’re not familiar with Windows.
