Breathometer, which manufactures breathalysers in the Melbourne suburb of Tullamarine, is now offering party hosts the opportunity to hire a portable unit for their functions.
Managing director Des Malcolm says the company will deliver breathalysers to parties in Melbourne and pick them up afterwards.
“It’s very difficult to guess one’s breath-alcohol content. For the average punter, that’s an impossible thing to do. The only way to do this is measure it,” Malcolm says.
Transport Accident Commission chief executive Janet Dore says breath testing at events where alcohol is served is encouraged.
Given our propensity to overdo it every so often, breathalysers at parties are an ideal way to ensure partygoers’ safety.
Can you think of any other devices that could increase safety in social environments?
