Business groups have called for an overhaul of the Fair Work Act, after the Federal Government announced a review of the workplace legislation.

 

The Government, as it promised when the Act was introduced two years ago, has appointed an independent panel for the review, although business lobbyists are unhappy that productivity and flexibility aren’t in the terms of reference.

 

eBay scam uncovered in Victoria

 

A deceitful, if enterprising, eBay entrepreneur is being sought by Victorian police after a scam lured people into buying TV sets that didn’t materialise.

 

Buyers paid thousands of dollars for the items, only for empty boxes to arrive via the post.

 

Apple wins HTC patents case

 

Apple has scored a narrow victory against Taiwan’s HTC Corp in their smartphone patents battle, Reuters reports, after the International Trade Commission (ITC) found HTC infringed on one of Apple’s patents.

 

The US trade agency imposed a formal import ban on Monday on any HTC phones that infringe on the patent, starting April 19, 2012.
