You’ve always got to keep your eye on what Apple is doing, no matter what industry you are in or what size of business you have.
The latest tip I picked up came from something Apple started a few weeks ago in its stores. In order to process customers transactions faster, the company set up a system whereby customers can scan the barcode of certain products and pay using their online AppleID accounts.
It’s a great idea but the lesson for start-ups is that businesses must make it as easy as possible to take payments from your customers.
Electronic funds transfer, BPay, cheque, money order, credit card, EFTPOS, debit card, PayPal and good old fashioned cash – the more options, the more convenient will be for your clients.
This isn’t just about customer service. During the holiday period, cashflow will be tight and you don’t want there to be any risk that a customer rings up and says “we’ve love to pay your bill, but we don’t use your payment methods”.
Keep the cash and the convenience flowing at all costs.
Get it done – today!
