Just weeks after Apple released the iOS 5 update, there’s another upgrade for users to download. This one fixes a number of issues, including battery life, and drastically improves how Australians can be recognised by the Siri voice assistant.
But rather than just plugging into iTunes, iOS 5 allows you to download the update over the air.
To do so, open the Settings app in your iPhone, and then at the top of the screen, select “software update”. You’ll probably need to connect to a WiFi network for optimal speeds.
There the software should tell you iOS needs an update. Follow the prompts, and the software will be installed on your device.
